Recognition of Prior Learning
Monash University recognises prior short courses or equivalent subjects.
Credit for the unit POM5001 (Perioperative management of the cardiac patient) is eligible towards POM5101 (Perioperative medicine and cardiorespiratory disease M6033 course only) if completed within the credit policy time frame which is currently 10 years ie. the student needs to apply for credit within the 10 year time frame.
M6027 and 3896 Courses
Participants who have previously completed the Perioperative Medicine Short Course during 2009 to 2013 will automatically obtain credit for POM5001.
Those participants will only need to complete the remaining three units to obtain the Graduate Diploma in Perioperative Medicine.
Credit may be possible for eligible elective unit/s toward course codes M6027 and 3896.
Short course participants from 2014 onwards will no longer receive credit for POM5001.
Credit for Elective Units
For students who would like to seek credit approval towards the Masters Elective Units, you will need to complete a Credit Application Form.
